2021 5k Trail Walk/Run Series

Let’s Get Moving and Hit the Trails!

Join us for Arapahoe County’s inaugural 5K TRAIL WALK/RUN SERIES celebrating Open Spaces, fitness and good health, and our thriving local trail system. We’ll have prizes and free swag, vendors and a hot pancake breakfast at the finish line! All ages are welcome. You can also sign up for our virtual race and walk/run the trails on your own time!

NEXT RUN INFORMATION:

DATE: Saturday, June 12

TIME: 8:00 a.m.

LOCATION: 17 Mile House Farm Park

8181 S. Parker Rd, Centennial, CO 80016

COURSE: The traffic-free 3.1 mile course will be held along the picturesque Cherry Creek Trail; the race will begin and end in front of the historic 17 Mile House.

REGISTRATION FEE:

  • In-Person $30; Virtual $20
  • Buy all three in-person races: $80 ($10 discount)
  • Buy all three virtual races: $50 ($10 discount)

Registration includes a free t-shirt and race bib, swag from race sponsors, pancake breakfast, and commemorative medal for in-person participants!

Important event details:

  • For the health and safety of all participants, social distancing is required and masks are encouraged.
  • Participants are not required to wear a mask during the 5K race itself.
  • Rain or shine event
  • Strollers and dogs are welcome
  • For the health and safety of our guests, masks and social distancing are encouraged.
  • COVID details subject to change
  • This is a fun run and will not be professionally timed

  • Saturday, June 12—17 Mile House Farm Park
  • Saturday, Aug. 14—Richmil Ranch Open Space
  • Saturday, Oct. 9—High Line Canal


June 12, 17 Mile House

Pick up walk/run participant items and swag bag Friday before the race at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds office (25690 E. Quincy Ave. Aurora, CO 80016). OR pick up your walk/run participant items and swag bag on 5K Day starting at 7:15 a.m. at walk/run check-in. Run/walkers will get a packet of information emailed to them a week before the Trail Walk/Run in addition to the items to be picked up.

Virtual walk/runners will get the same packet of information that in-person walk/runners receive. Virtual walk/runner will have to pick up their walk/run packets in person, please email lbagby@arapahoegov.com for any questions. However virtual participants will be allowed to complete their 5K on their on timeline between June 3 -June 15, 2021. We ask that the virtual participants use an Arapahoe County Open Spaces Trail and support our beautiful open spaces. See more Open Spaces Properties and Trails at www.arapahoegov.com/openspaces

About 17 Mile House Farm Park

17 Mile House Farm Park is an Arapahoe County Open Spaces property and heritage area, featuring a 155-year old farmhouse, red barn, silo and milk shed, as well as two historic windmills and 30 acres of open space. The Farm Park is also a trailhead connecting to the Cherry Creek Regional Trail, with parking, restrooms, and picnic areas.

If you have not already signed up for the June 12th Run/Walk please join us on June 12 at the 17 Mile House (8181 S. Parker Rd. Centennial, CO 80016) by 7:30am, please bring cash in the amount of $30 to sign up on site. Run/Walk will begin promtly at 8:00am.

All vendors of the Arapahoe County Fair must submit insurance to lbagby@arapahoegov.com by June 1.

The submitted insurance must include: Commerical General Liability insurance with minimum combined single limits of one million dollars ($1,000,000) each occurrence and one million dollars ($1,000,000) aggregate. The required commercial general liability shall be endorsed to include Arapahoe County as Certificate Holder and name Arapahoe County and its elected officials, officers, employees and agents as additionally insured.
